Doctor

Molly has her 9 month check-up on Friday. She is a big girl. TWO teeth now. She is starting to eat some of our meal. She loves Veggie Puffs as much as Claudia did (does). She walks around the table with one hand now.

Molly is progressing well, but really hasn't gained much weight. Hopefully that kicks in soon. She seems happy, smart, and laughs all of the time.

Its been nice for them to have a few days "off" with no performances or gifts. Molly has almost nothing to do the rest of the week besides the doctor visit.

Holidays

Molly has been a patient girl the past few days. She has spent a lot of time in a car seat as she travels around to the various activities. She spent time at the Kopecs, Shays, and Keatings. Last night she went to Uncle Ricky's and Aunt Laura's house for dinner. She had lots of fun with Uncle Jimmy. Tonight she had dinner at home as Mimi arrived to town.

She has indulged in way too many presents. Both her and her sister aren't even close to finishing all their presents. They get 2-3 done and then they have had enough. And there is a birthday tomorrow. We will be opening presents for awhile.

She walked all the way around a table last night (holding on). That impressed me a bit. She is laughing and having "conversations" with us now.

Uh-Oh

We have been having fun the past few days. Molly is just starting to "talk". Her only word is "Uh-Oh". She says it slowly. Uh.....OOOhhh. She is fully mobile now as a crawler and can "walk" a few steps if we hold both of her hands. She pulls herself up to every table and chair (and pulls everything off....).

Sleep

Molly has had a tough couple of days. Last night at 8:30pm she was put in her crib. She never really sleeps in her crib. We checked her every 3-4 minutes as she screamed, but she was fine. By 8:45 it was slowing down and she suddenly fell asleep.

She slept until 3:30, got fed, and we did the same thing.

Its 6:40am and she is still sleeping. Is this a one time event? Or have we turned a corner?

On another note, Molly really loves the musicians at the Mexican restaurant. She loves live music.

Crawling Girl

Molly crawled over the Thanksgiving break.  No doubt she is an official mover at this point.

She had a really fun vacation (we think).  She enjoyed meeting Uncle Mark and Aunt Joan for the first time.  Lots more pictures on Flickr.

Big Girl

We can stand up!  Nothing makes her happier than her piano.

Swimming

Molly went swilling today at Pomperaug. She did real well. She is talking a lot more and trying to move around as best she can.

We are still trying to get her to gain some weight. She has plateaued here at 17 lbs for a good while now.

Mr. Kurt

Our friend Kurt came over last night. Molly and Claudia definitely like Kurt. Molly was all smiles and giggles. Claudia dances and sings whenever he comes over.

Her personality is starting to come out. She loves to watch what people are doing and loves to sit and play with her toys. Molly gets tired and cranky and clingy for Mommy so we need to anticipate her sleep times a bit better.

NYC

Molly went to NYC with her sister today.  She was great, but got real tired and had a tough ride home.  Its not easy being a baby.

Baptism

Molly had her baptism today at the North Congregational Church in Woodbury. Everything went very well. It was a beautiful day and Molly seemed to have a great time.

Many family and friends joined us for the ceremony and party afterwards. We kept it small as we were worried about the weather. We missed rain and nasty wind by 24 hours as yesterday was brutal. Today was sunny and 65 degrees. Great day.

Juice

Molly tries very hard.  She has been trying to figure out how to drink juice.  She hasnt been very successful yet.

In general she has been a bit needy lately.  She is a good kid, but still isnt on a dependable sleep schedule.  Hopefully we can start doing that soon.

Present

Molly got a Raggedy Ann from her Aunt Pat and was very excited!

6 months

Molly had her 6 month appointment today and is all healthy.
  • 26.5 inches (75-90%)
  • 16lb-11 (50-75%)
  • 45 cm head (97%)

The doctor was impressed by how well she sits up. Of course!

Playing

Molly is starting to play with her toys much more. She sits up just fine now, except for the moments when she leans too far forward and falls face first.
She is "talking" a lot more. She still doesn't really sleep that consistently, although she is generally happy to be quiet (if not asleep) all night.

Hello

We use this blog for many reasons, but I think the main reason is to keep a diary of what Molly and Claudia do. This is their "baby book". We know that friends and relatives (and random visitors) to this page are often viewing this from a large distance and can't always be here in person as much as they'd like to be.

We'd appreciate it if you would "sign the book" today and leave a note about who you are and where you are reading the blog from.

Thanks!

Eating

We know its a little early, but we started to give Molly some solid food. She is doing pretty well with it so far. She had a bit of a tough week with eating and sleeping, but we hope she has turned the corner. She is still working on learning how to sleep for long periods.
She is a very patient baby. I find that she is very observational. She is happy to sit and take it all in.
Her favorite toys are her books. She loves to be read to and to be able to hold and turn the pages.

Friday, August 29, 2008

Sit-up

Molly can topple, but she can sit-up by herself now. She sits in her high chair with us at dinner now which she really likes. If we leave her on her mat she is rolling over and reaching for stuff.

She laughs a lot and seems happy. She is still growing like crazy.

Vermont

Molly just got back from her first vacation in Vermont. She was a real trooper. Its not easy being a baby--thats for sure.

Molly went swimming a few times, but it was pretty cold for her. She really worked hard on sitting up (she can pretty much do it) and giggling at stuff.
She is a cutey.

Vacation

Molly leaves on her first vacation to Vermont this weekend. She is excited to go. Molly is really starting to grab everything in sight and is slowly becoming a little more independent. She likes to sit up and read her books, especially if Claudia is reading with her.

4 month

Molly had her 4 month check-up today and is in good health. Quite tall, quite big (with a big head and big muscles).

Sunday, August 3, 2008

Sleeping and Laughing

Molly is on a very odd sleeping schedule. She still doesn't sleep for mroe than four hours at a time, but she does go back to sleep at night.
Molly spent about twenty minutes yesterday laughing at Claudia as Claudia horsed around. That was her first sustained session of hysterics. She is starting to slowly transition into regular baby stuff and out of sleep-cry-eat baby stuff.
I'd swear she is starting to get a tooth as she is really chewing and drooling a lot, but Kasey doesnt think so.

Big Girl

Molly is almost four months old! She is just starting to want to sit up. She works very hard at it. Molly still isnt sleeping great at night. Its a long stretch, but it gets interrupted many times.

Hanging Out

Molly has been pretty much just hanging out. She seems to be just starting to figure out how to sit up. She can almost sit with some help. She is definitely grabbing stuff more. We are trying to read to her and spend plenty of time with her.

She went to the doctor at Yale as she has a fairly significant birthmark thing. He thought it would start to disappear shortly which is good news.

Monday, July 14, 2008

Big girl

Molly is happy to be home. She is very tired. We went to five birthday parties and one wedding over the past week or so. She has had enough!

Molly turned over several times today from her tummy to back. Good job Molly!

Pennsylvania

Molly has been a good girl on her trip here. She slept all the way here from Connecticut which made the trip go very fast. Molly has gone to a parade and to Uncle Tyler's restaurant and even to Red Robin!
Molly seems to be growing like crazy. She can sit by herself in a chair for awhile now and is definitely "talking" much more the past few days.

Getting outside

Tomorrow Molly makes her first trip of over 30 minutes in the car. Very exciting. Hopefully, we have good sleeping from both kids at the same time.
We can hope for nap from 11-1pm. Lunch. Nap from 2-5pm. But that might be wishful thinking.

Friday, June 13, 2008

10 weeks

Molly is doing pretty well. She sleeps real well at night usually (10-6) but is usually up during the day. We are trying to get her to nap a bit more. She is growing so very fast and we need to watch things pretty closely. She hit the 4 month weight/height at 2 months so she seems to be skipping over some milestones and lagging on a few others.

She has a pretty good birth mark on her chest that we will head to Yale for next month just to get checked out by the experts. Not a huge deal, but worth checking out.

She is starting to transition to where we need to spend some quality time with her doing the reading, fun stuff, etc...The summer should be fun.

We head to Pennsylvania next week so Molly can meet everyone down there (especially Uncle Tyler). Molly hasn't seen her grandmother Mimi for awhile so she is very excited to show her all of her new tricks.

Swimming

Molly is now a swimmer.

Friday, June 6, 2008

2 months

Molly had her two month appointment today. She had lots of shots so she is a little grumpy. But she is pretty tough.

She is off the charts for weight and head circumference and at 90% for height. 13lb, 12 oz and 23 inches. Everything checks out good.

Monday, June 2, 2008

Giggle

Molly can giggle. Many more pictures and video up on flickr.

Smiling

OK. Molly is smiling. And sometimes a bit of a giggle.

She loves her mobile in her crib and this seems to be the source of the amusement. We also think she might be over 13lbs already. Big kid.

Friday, May 23, 2008

Smiling

Molly is just starting to smile. We think she giggled the other night, but we aren't sure.

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

6 weeks

Believe it or not, Molly is six weeks old. She seems to be doing real well as we transition from the survival mode (sleep-eat) to the "what do we do with her now" phase. We are starting to read to her and play some more games. She loves sitting on her mat and looking at herself in the mirror.

Molly went to her cousin Monique's band concert and only let out two yelps.

Stuff

We still don't have our computers back but I have been able to upload some pictures. Molly had a very nice Mother's Day and she took Mommy out to brunch. Molly has been growing very fast and continues to be a very good girl. She slept a bit in her crib last night and we hope to do a little more of that. She is still wanting to be fed quite often so she is growing fast, but I think Mommy wouldn't mind her sleeping a bit more at night.

Hair

Our computer has been down so we havent been posting pictures lately. We will catch up.

Molly is losing most of her baby hair. She looks very funky.

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Check-up

Molly had her appointment yesterday and weighs 11 pounds 10 ounces. She is certainly growing fast. Everything checked out fine.

Monday, May 5, 2008

1 month

When you read this Molly will be one month old! Wow!

Tomorrow she has her doctors appointment and we can see how she has been growing and get everything checked out. Molly has been to a few functions with Mommy including a baby shower for Mommy's friend Jen.

Molly is starting to move her head much better. She seems to be getting much stronger. I think she grew a lot, but we shall see tomorrow.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Growing fast

Molly continues to be a very patient young girl. She is starting to look at things a little. She likes looking at herself in the mirror. She can hold her head a little better so she isn't flopping around. The past few days she has a bit of an upset tummy but we think she is getting a little bit better.

She had several visitors recently including her Aunt Tootie and her Aunt KA. She likes visits a lot.

Sunday, April 27, 2008

Monday, April 21, 2008

Check-up

Molly Ann had her appointment today and weighs over 10 lbs. She is in the 90th percentile for weight, off the charts for height and head circumference. Everything looks good and healthy. She is resting now while her big sister goes shopping for popsicles.

Saturday, April 19, 2008

Tummy Time

Molly turned her head during tummy time with Daddy. She probably did it with Mommy as well, but Mommy lets Daddy share in some of the glory every so often. For the record it was right to left. She is also starting to reach for things on her mat a lot more.

Molly had a visit from her cousins today and Monique hung out with Claudia for awhile. Molly isn't quite sure how to play yet so she slept most of the time.

Doctors appointment on Monday. Any guesses on weight?

Friday, April 18, 2008

End of the week

Molly is 12 days old and has been doing pretty well. On Monday she heads in for a two week check-up (and Daddy goes back to work). She has been sleeping really well but was awake more than usual during the day today.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Yawn

Molly had a nice visit today from Grandma Keating and also from Aunt KA. Pretty soon we are off for our first big walk!

1 Week

Much has changed in a week in all of our lives (Abby too!). Molly Ann is a full week old and is looking much better. She was a bit yellow for awhile, but that has largely disappeared. She still has a a red spot in her eye from the birth (it was a bit traumatic) but that should go away soon as well. Her complexion is much better and she isn't quite as "squishy".

This week we hope to get into a bit more of a routine. Mommy will have some 2 on 1 time as well to see how that goes. There will be moments, I am sure.

Saturday, April 12, 2008

Good Morning

Molly is almost one week old!

Friday, April 11, 2008

Friday

Last night Molly had her first bath at home and did pretty well. She seems to be the sanest person in the household. She pretty much just sleeps. She probably stays awake for one or two periods each day.

She went back for a weight check today and had gained 8 ounces in 2 days which is a lot. She was a very good girl at the doctor's and didn't cry at all.

Pidge and Rick came to meet Molly today and brought lots of good cheer. Molly has a Yankees shirt now. Her sister is hitting it off the tee now (and pretty well!) so it is just a matter of time before we have fielding practice. I think if you are a girl in Southbury you almost have to play field hockey, but we shall see....

Thursday, April 10, 2008

Thursday

Mimi and Aunt Susannah arrived from Pennsylvania to meet Molly. Molly has been a real good girl. She sleeps a whole lot, maybe too much as she needs to eat a bit more and its hard to keep her awake.
We received some nice gifts so far and lots of great thoughts and we thank everyone.

Thursday

Molly is still doing pretty well. She has been a good girl. We have had a lot of help from Grandma the past few days and today Mimi and Aunt Susannah arrive to help for a few days. At this point Kasey is officially tired.

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Wednesday

Molly went to the doctor's office. She is a little underweight but otherwise is just fine. She was a very good patient and let the doctor do all the tests without any complaints.

Everything is going OK so far.

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

Home

Molly is home.

Monday, April 7, 2008

Day Two

Molly seems to sleep whenever Daddy is around. Apparently Mommy is keeping her awake most of the night so she immediately falls asleep as soon as Daddy arives in the morning. Mommy was quite flabbergasted.

We expect to be home tomorrow. The baby is eating well. She has a few more tests to go through before she can leave.

Claudia brought Molly some books to read today and she also held her hand for a long time.

Day One

Molly has had a good day so far. The highlight was certainly the visit from her big sister (video to follow...). She is such a good sister already.

Her first visit was from the Kopecs and she really enjoyed that visit. She fell asleep in Elizabeth's arms right away. I think she is pretty worn out.

Grandma Keating followed soon after. At this point big sister staked out a spot on Mommy's bed just to make things clear. Aunt Patty and Molly's cousins Jack, Hunter, and Monique soon arrived as well.

Molly has been pretty quiet all day. She has eaten a little, but we are trying to have her eat some more. Mommy is certainly ready for some sleep as well.

Happy Birthday

Molly Ann Schneider was born this morning at Yale New Haven Hospital. She weighs 8lbs 12 ozs. She is 21.75 inches long. She has lots of dark hair and blue eyes. Another miracle child thanks to the doctors at Yale.

Everyone is doing well and resting. Soon I will wake Claudia so she can go meet her little sister. Very exciting.
